May: Holiday New Zealand

Mt Taranaki, New Zealand

So excited to be visiting home after 2 years in North India. I am pretty excited to see all my families and friends in new Zealand. I am also pretty excited to escape the summer heat of North India for New Zealand Winter.

International tickets booked with all domestic tickets. All bags packed for this long awaited journey. Transiting through China, a 17 hour journey looked like 2 day journey. However, by the time I arrived in Auckland New Zealand, I was glad. To top it off, all my luggage made it to New Zealand with me. The weather was so nice. It felt like heaven. Well for those who came in late: New Zealand or rather Middle Earth as some of you may know is Heaven on Earth.

So I made up my bucket list:

1. Lamb Roast and BBQ
2. Visit Kaponga and Mount Taranaki
3. Visit Blenheim
4. Visit Mc Donalds with Youth after Sunday Church service in Blenheim
5. Catch up with many people as possible
6. Chinese food at Dominion Road
7. Visit Grandma
8. Buy some Jeans and shirts because I can't find my size in India
9. Drive a vehicle - haven't driven one for the past three years
10. Try my favourite drink - Spiced Berry [Shotts]

Ten things I appreciated while I was in New Zealand

1. Quietness - silence: so peaceful
2. Clean fresh air - less pollution
3. Better Cell Phone coverage
4. Cool climate
5. Beautiful scenery
6. Security free entry into shopping malls
7. Lack of Traffic congestion
8. Hardly any sellers persuading me to buy their products
9. No public congestion
10. Lack of Veggies...lol

When I arrived back in New Zealand. One thing I greatly missed was my car. I loved my Car. I sold it before I left for India. Thanks to my dad, I was able to use his vehicle.

What I love about my visit to New Zealand

1. The People!
Kiwi's are renowned for being a friendly and inviting bunch, but the people I know are super extraordinary people who is willing to share their life with me. I am an awesome support base or I rather call them my cheerleaders in Hamilton, Gisborne, Blenheim and Taranaki. They are awesome people. I enjoyed their company and I must say I got so much love and care from them.

2. The Scenery

The scenery and landscape in New Zealand is spectacular. From the Southern Alps, to the rugged West Coast, to the lakes, to the beaches, to the fjords, the glaciers, the geysers and the green, green, green everything... there's something here for everyone. New Zealand is beautiful. I believe if we are surrounded with beautiful creation, we will have happy thoughts.

 3. The Food

New Zealand is the home of the world's best lamb, the hangi, pavlova (yeah you read right), pineapple lumps and incredible seafood. 'nuff said. Oh, and fush and chups. I love Lamb roast and New Zealand lamb is one of my favourite meal [Sorry animal lovers].

The People, the Scenery and the food is what I loved when I went to New Zealand for my holidays. These are something I am missing while I am in North India.

I felt very sad to say good bye to New Zealand. I had a good trip back and took with me lot of good memories and thoughts with me back to North India.

Thank you to all the people who provided accommodation and love to me during my stay in New Zealand. it was fantastic. God bless you all.

Regards
Ravi
